Debate On: John McCain Will Attend Presidential Debate

Ending two days of speculation Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain has now announced that he will indeed appear at Friday night’s scheduled presidential debate with Barack Obama in Oxford, Mississippi. Sen. McCain suspended his campaign on Wednesday and called for a postponement of the  debate so that he could return to Washington and focus on negotiations surrounding the economic bailout package under consideration in Congress.

Gay Bashing Radio Host Michael Savage Dropped from Radio Network

Talk Radio Network host Michael Savage has been dropped from a Mississippi radio network after making defamatory comments about autistic children on his show last week. The Savage Nation host, who has repeatedly bashed the gay community on air, called autistic children ‘brats’ and said autism is nothing more than a ‘fraud’. Savage has also lost at least one major advertiser over the inflammatory remarks.

American Family Association Threatens to Reinstate Ford Boycott

Following yesterday’s report that the Ford Motor Co. will continue advertising in a number of gay publications, the conservative American Family Association said Thursday that it will consider reinstating a boycott against the company. In May, the AFA threatened Ford with a boycott because it objected to the automaker extending partner benefits to gay employees and because Ford supported gay events and advertised in gay publications.
